What you will do

As a Commodity Buyer Plant (m/f/d) you will report to the Plant & AME Manager Lithium-Ion. You are responsible for ensuring a timely purchase of goods and services in accordance with our production and plant requirements. You will support the Procurement organizations strategy for specific direct materials, with emphasis on identification of cost reduction opportunities, budget development/maintenance and procurement process improvements. Furthermore, you handle results-driven about business cost reduction, revenue increasing initiatives, aggregating supplier volume/reducing price, utilizing tools, and identifying opportunities for e-processes while increasing capacity and driving controllership. The role will be based in our Clarios EMEA headquarters office in Hanover, Germany.
Aufgaben Main Responsibilities:
  • Plans and executes the orders of goods and services together with plant functions to optimize spend and create competitiveness
  • Execute Projects and negotiations to meet budget targets
  • Manages and optimizes Master Data for plant suppliers and material numbers
  • Creates Scheduling Agreements for Direct Materials in line with central negotiated terms
  • Creates Scheduling Agreements for Critical Indirect Materials in line with central negotiated terms
  • Supports and implements negotiation strategy for regional materials including direct/indirect and services materials
  • Analyzes global material acquisition and develops strategic plans for maximizing efficiencies and maintaining a high quality of customer services
  • Demonstrates accountability for functional, business and broad company objectives. Integrates and support development of processes that meet business needs across the organization for specific commodity responsibility
  • Involved in long term strategic planning Contributes to the overall strategy and solves complex issues within functional areas of expertise
  • Interacts on a periodic, continuing basis with cross functional colleagues
  • Provides for the evaluation of supplier quotations utilizing appropriate negotiation and procurement analysis techniques and implementation of proper contracts with emphasis on quality, price, delivery, and service necessary to meet requirements.
  • Supports development and monitor production capacity strategy with suppliers
  • Develops suppliers and support improving their Quality, Productivity, Conversion Cost and Delivery for Indirect products and Services

Profil What we look for
Required
  • Completed apprenticeship or bachelor´s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or similar with a commercial and/or technical education background
  • First work experiences in a purchasing or other industrial function, ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and applicable laws and regulations
  • Ability to drive successfully projects related to Li-Ion battery plant
  • Proficient negotiation skills
  • Proficient supplier relationship management skills
  • Good knowledge of SAP and E-Procurement applications preferred
  • Very good MS Office skills
  • Very good communications skills with the ability to read, write and communicate fluently in German
  • Good English language skills, other European languages are a plus
