The Drilling Services group is looking for an Electrical Reliability Engineer to join our Central Reliability Engineering team. This will be a unique opportunity to join a cross discipline team working with state of the art technologies in the energy development industry. This hands-on position involves full exposure to development, testing, deployment, and analysis of new components and complete systems for harsh environment operations.
As a Electrical Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Performing failure investigation and root cause analysis on system, PCBAs and component-level for downhole drilling tools. Writing reports to summarize results and communicate lessons learned.
  • Collaborating with internal state of the art laboratory backing up failure investigation
  • Evaluating system and component performance in their application. Monitoring for trends and initiating actions accordingly in order to improve reliability and durability.
  • Optimizing design concepts to meet performance/reliability requirements and cost targets utilizing advanced simulation tools for functional as well as survivability evaluation.
  • Contributing to development of test plans and collaborating on execution of tests at a system level or component level. Completing documentation and change management processes for product enhancements.
  • Collaborating with engineering department in design reviews and bench mark studies.
  • Presenting failure analysis results in the technology development process.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert communicating with maintenance locations worldwide as well as with internal and external customers.
  • Travelling to major maintenance facilities supporting failure analysis and introduction of new services.

Profil Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have an above-average university degree or a comparable qualification with experience in analogue and digital circuits and systems.
  • Have profound knowledge of the technology of electronic components and sensors as well as in the area of measurement and control engineering
  • Have practical experience in the above mentioned area of expertise gathered during internships, thesis, apprenticeship and/or professional experience.
  • Demonstrate in depth experienced in handling modern electronic laboratory equipment and display advanced technical skills.
  • Demonstrate advanced problem solving skills with respect to Applied Electronics, Engineering Design, and Technology Development.
  • Show good knowledge in the area of programming and control engineering.
  • Be self-contained, self-motivated and structured to work within a worldwide functioning interdisciplinary team
  • Show good written and verbal English skills, due to working in an international diverse working environment and deep interest in working with other cultures and travelling.
  • Have good experience in circuit simulation and in MATLAB programming would be beneficial.
