Post-doctoral researcher (f/m/x) Research group of Dr. Tamina Seeger-Nukpezah "Translational Cancer Research Group"

full-time; initially limited until July 31, 2024 as part of a third-party funded project

Our laboratory is located in a new research building and is embedded in an excellent research environment that offers many interactions with researchers and clinicians at the University of Cologne, the Cologne Cluster of Excellence "Cellular Stress Responses in Aging-Associated Diseases" (CECAD) and the Center for Integrated Oncology Aachen Bonn Köln Düsseldorf (CIO ABCD). Our research group has many years of experience in the investigation of complex signaling pathways that play a role in the pathogenesis of various tumor entities and in the interaction with the tumor microenvironment. The goal is to use the findings of our basic research to develop new therapeutic approaches that will significantly improve the future treatment of cancer patients.


  • Independent planning and implementation of the above project
  • Evaluation of novel therapeutic strategies focusing on signal transduction within the tumor cell and in interaction with the tumor microenvironment in pre-clinical in vitro and murine in vivo models
  • Performance of cell biological, molecular genetics and immunological methods (cell culture of primary tumor cells and cell lines, PCR, cloning, flow cytometry, Western blot, immunohistochemistry)
  • Mentoring of PhD students and guidance of technical assistants


  • Completed university studies and doctorate in the natural sciences is required
  • Solid basic understanding of cellular, immunological and molecular mechanisms in oncology is required
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience in performing and troubleshooting basic cell biological, protein biochemical and molecular biological methods is expected
  • Knowledge in animal experiments (mice) is desired
  • Good knowledge of English is required
